My users have asked me to add the latest topics mod, but most of the forum is private, so the mod doesnt really work effectively.  Is there a way to make the mod work using the credentials of the currently logged in user instead of guest credentials?

You are correct that the Latest Topics mod does not use the members permissions and simply shows topics that are available to guests as it is based on the RSS feeds.

I will look into adding this functionality in to future updates though.
